Midsummer June 25 starting at 3 PM

Yes, midsummer is almost here! Traditionally we celebrate the same weekend they celebrate Midsummer in Sweden and it will be here in just 3 short weeks!!  This is such a fun Swedish tradition that we would like to keep celebrating.  We’re planning on starting the festivities at 3 PM.

This activity requires a lot of volunteers to make a successful event for all. We are a volunteer organization and are dependent on helpers at the events. We strongly encourage all former and future participants of the Lucia procession to help out, and their families. We need a chair person for the following areas: (you will be trained)
1. Program (Dancing, singers, etc)
2. Children’s activities
3. Dinner tickets
4. Drinks
5. Decorating the Maypole

We need volunteers at the following times:
Set-up in the morning
7:30-10:30 am (10 people with good, strong backs who can put up tents, tables and chairs)

Face-painting
4-6 pm

Fishpond
4:30-6 pm

Selling drinks
3:00-4:30 pm
4:30-6 pm

Selling dinner tickets (this is a service we do for the caterer to make the dinner line move faster.)
2 people 3-4:30 pm
2-4 people 4:30-6 pm
Store “helpers” – 2 per shift
3-4:30 pm
4:30-6 pm
6-7:30 pm

Store Cashiers (we need 4 per shift)
3:00-4:30 pm
4:30-6:00 pm
6:00-7:30 pm

Decorating the Maypole
3:00-4:00 pm (3 people)

Take Down in the evening (the more helpers (at least 10) the faster it will go to take everything down)
7:30-9:30 pm

If we don’t have all volunteers lined up by the 12th of June (next Sunday), the event will be cancelled. We’re hoping for a great response so we can continue to enjoy our Swedish traditions!!

Thanks,
Vivianne
