Midsommarfirande i SLC 2019

Hej alla!
Here is all the information you have been looking for to celebrate midsommar 2019 in Salt Lake. There is a lot of important information included, please read through it all! Thanks in advance, and we look forward to hearing from you volunteers and seeing you all very soon! :-)
We will celebrate midsommar on Saturday, June 22nd starting at 3 pm.
This is a fun family event!!

(Located in the NW corner of Jordan Park)

3:00 PM Bring fresh flowers/foliage (like birch) to help decorate the May Pole (please no thorny roses or                     plastic flowers)
4:00 PM Pole raising / Dancing
5:00 PM Games for the children/ Dancing/ Music
6:00 PM Dinner catered by “Copper Grill”. Dinners MUST be prepaid or you will not be able to eat. The                        deadline for ordering is Monday June 17th 2019 at 3 PM, however please order ASAP so that we                     can determine if we have enough meals ordered for the caterer to come. Please note: All online meal ticket orders will be paying the nonmember price as the system doesn’t have a way to verify who is a current SHS member. Members of SHS will receive a $3 discount per ticket (both adult and child tickets). The refund will be included with your tickets and available for pickup when you arrive at the park. Again, PLEASE order/respond ASAP as if we do not have a minimum of 100 meals ordered ASAP we will have to cancel the dinner.
If you would rather pay by check, it must be received no later than Monday June 17th. If you choose to pay by check, please let us know per email that it is on the way so we can add that number of tickets to the final count for the caterer and we request that you enclose a note with your check of how many tickets adult/children member/nonmember you are paying for. ALL tickets purchased with check are discounted the online service fee of $.50/ticket in addition to any applicable SHS member discount. Kindly remember that only immediate family members living at your address are eligible to receive the discounted price. Extended family & friends are not included, unless they are also members of SHS. Checks should be sent to:

Sill (pickled herring)
Potatis (boiled / mashed)
Kycklingbröst i svampsås (chicken breast in mushroom gravy)
Köttbullar (meatballs – the best tasting around, unless they are homemade)
Lingon (lingon berries)
Kålpudding (cabbage meat loaf)
Sallad (salad)
Pressgurka (marinated cucumbers)
Bröd & smör / (limpa & knäckebröd)  (limpa bread / hard bread w/ butter)
Efterrätt  (dessert)
Dricka (drink)
We are a volunteer organization and are dependent upon volunteers to make an event of this size a good time for everyone. Future and former participants of the Lucia procession as well as their families are especially strongly encouraged to volunteer.  This simply cannot be done without every possible volunteer. Positions and time slots that absolutely MUST be filled are listed below. If we do not have these slots filled ASAP (at the latest June 16th) we will cancel the event because as a volunteer, you are vital. There are many opportunities to find a volunteer spot that would be good for your strengths / interests / schedule that day.
We need volunteers in the park for the following positions at the following times:
Set-up in the morning: 8 am -11:00 am – we need 10 strong people to set up the tents, tables, and chairs used for the event. (Small children do not count).

Set-up store (9:00 am – 3:00 pm)
Decorating the Maypole 3:00–4:00 pm
Face Painting 4:00–6:00 pm
Fishpond: 4:30-6:00 pm
Selling drinks: 3:00–4:30 pm /4:30–6:00 pm
Dinner tickets (Will Call – handing out tickets already purchased): 3:00–4:30 pm / 4:30-6:00 pm
Store “helpers”: 3:15-4:30 pm / 4:30-6:00 pm /6:30-8:00 pm
Store Cashiers: 3:15-4:45 pm / 4:45-6:00 pm /6:30-8:30 pm
Take Down in the evening: 7:30-9:30 pm (10 helpers)
