Valborg – Come welcome Spring – Saturday, May 13, 6:00 PM

(By the playground/amphitheater — look for the Swedish flag)

If you have branches to burn, please bring. The more branches the taller the bonfire.

Welcome spring and sing traditional songs around the bonfire!

Come hungry, as we will sell Swedish style hotdogs, mashed potatoes, warm & cold drinks, and Swedish pastries, like princesstårta, Budapest, semlor, vaniljbullar…

Make sure to bring family and friends. We will have a small Swedish store set up at this activity.

If you are able to help out for 45 minutes during the event, please reply to this email. We do need your help or we can’t continue having our events.

Admission: Adult: $7 – Child: $4 (4-16)

If you join SHS for 2017, you get the member price.

Members of SHS: Adult $4/Child $2

Come hungry and enjoy dinner catered by “Copper Grill”.

Dinner will be served from 4:00PM-5:30PM. Dinner will not be served after the program.

Adult: $14- Child: $9 (10 & under)

If you join SHS, you get the member price. The membership will be good for all of next year.

Members of SHS: Adult $12/child $8 (10 & under)

See Lucia and her Starboys! Listen to beautiful Swedish traditional Christmas music and get in the spirit of Christmas!  (Arrive early; the doors will be closed during the Lucia procession.)  Dance your socks off!

Visit with Santa and shop till you drop.

Come Prepared to buy your Christmas gifts and traditional favorite foods and European brands! The Swedish Store will be filled with many NEW items. Store hours: 4:00 PM-5:30 PM.

The Swedish store will also be open after the Program.

We will be stocked with Swedish cheeses (Hushållsost (Farmer’s cheese), Prästost, Herrgård, Havarti, etc.), Kalles Kaviar, Abbas sill pickled herring, knäckebröd (crisp bread) several varieties, Saffran (Saffron), Odense marzipan, vaniljsocker, pärlsocker (pearl sugar), saft (drink concentrate), glögg (traditional Christmas drink), julmust (traditional Christmas drink), Marabou choklad (several different varieties), Swedish candy, marzipan candy, limpa bread, lussekatter (traditional saffron buns), wienerbröd, other baked items and MUCH more!

The “Swedish Store” is a fundraiser for the Swedish Heritage Society.  We add very little to our prices (some items are sold at cost) to make it more affordable for you to enjoy products from Sweden/Europe. We appreciate your support in helping us further Swedish culture and traditions in Utah, like our annual Lucia Celebration.

Pre-Christmas store

Saturday, November 7th, 2015

We will have our pre-Christmas store open this coming Saturday, November 7, from 5-7pm at the Cottonwood Presbyterian Church, 1580 East Vine Street (about 6100S), in Salt Lake City, UT 84121.The store will be open in conjunction with The Scandinavian Dancing Fall Fest. There will be easy access to the store – no stairs. You can come and dance or watch the dancers and listen to the music, as well. This is FREE of charge for the Saturday night dance which starts at 7 PM.  Here is a partial list of food and candy items we have in stock:Julmust – Traditional Christmas drink

We will have two KUBB games starting at 5:30 if you would like to learn how to play the Swedish game KUBB. They will also be for sale.

The store will open at 5:30 pm.

Spring activity – Vårsoppa

Place: First Baptist Church
777 S 1300 East, SLC This is one of our favorite activities all year! Come and enjoy our soup buffet (pea soup, potato soup & nettle soup -just to mention a few), limpa bread & knäckebröd with cheese, Kalles kaviar, summer sausage, etc. Semlor is the traditional dessert.  The tables will be beautifully decorated with påskris (traditional Easter decoration – birch twigs w/ feathers).If you can’t stay and enjoy the food and good company, you’re still welcome to come and shop.  Our“Swedish Store” will be open from 5:30-6 PM and again from 7PM - closing. We are loaded with Marabou chocolates, candy, and several varieties of cheese and much more!Tickets are $6/adult and $5/child 3-12.Members of Swedish Heritage receive a discounted price -  $4/adult & $3/child 3-12.
